Conventions

Shake The Ground offers smaller more intimate workshop style conventions for the nonstop dancer. It gives the dancers and opportunity to work closely with some of the industry’s greatest educations teaching fundamental dance techniques in the most cutting-edge styles.

A two-day experience with a faculty that is talented, energetic, motivating and supportive in every way, and an administrative staff that is unparalleled. It’s an encouraging environment that expands all dancers’ artistic limits through exploration and self-expression.

Convention Details

The convention weekend will be 2 and a half days of classes in all styles of dance. Conventions begin on Friday’s at 5:00pm with opportunities for dancers beyond the standard class followed by 4 classes each day on Saturday and Sunday (3 classes per day for Petite Dancers) . The convention is an opportunity for dancers to learn, grow, and gain invaluable insight from our amazing instructors. As always, Shake the Ground will aim to provide not only wonderful classes and experiences, but also opportunities for future growth through Scholarships & STG Aspire Awards given at the end of the event.

Special Events

Each Convention will have special events throughout including Teacher’s Question and Answer segments where dancers will be able to ask our fantastic artists about their careers, experiences, dance life, and more. We will also have dance parties and extra surprises to Shake UP the dance convention experience. It will be an event you won’t want to miss.

Scholarship Awards

At each convention, the Shake The Ground’s master teachers award outstanding, hard-working dancers with scholarships or other special awards as available and at the sole discretion of our instructors.

Convention Fees

Each dancer is placed in one of the following age groups. Ages are determined as of January 1st in the year of the convention. Parents & Guests will be provided tickets to observe classes that can be purchased via our online portal for $15.00 per day or $25.00 for the entire convention weekend.

Registration and Convention Fees

All participants must be submitted through our online registration software. All fees must be paid in full 4 weeks before the competition and paid by money order, cashier’s check, or credit card. A $30 charge for each check returned by the bank to Shake The Ground will be assessed to the original check owner. All returned checks must be made good, including the $30 charge, within 10 days of the competition or entries will be voided. Shake The Ground reserves the right to request all future payments be made by money order, cashier’s check, or credit card from anyone whose check is dishonored. All fees are non-refundable

Additional Rules

Shake The Ground and the venue hosting the event are not responsible for any personal injury or property loss that is suffered by anyone attending or participating in the competition. Shake The Ground reserves the right, when necessary, to relocate a convention site/date/time or expand a convention if necessary. Changes to original participants must be received seven days before the competition event. Shake The Ground reserves the rights to change, delete, or add to any rules, regulations, or policies at any time deemed necessary. Shake The Ground reserves the right to cancel any event due to lack of registration, weather, or other unforeseen circumstance. If an extenuating weather or unforeseen circumstance arises and Shake The Ground cancels an event and it is not rescheduled, refunds or credits will be issued. If the event is rescheduled, no refunds will be given. Should an extenuating circumstance arise, please check the website and/or your email address that you registered under for any event updates.
